Qingjie Wang, M.D.

Dr. Wang is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and surgical management of diseases affecting the retina and vitreous. His clinical expertise includes the treatment of retinal detachment, vitreous opacities, vitreous hemorrhage, epiretinal membrane, and macular holes. He also performs advanced anterior and posterior segment procedures, including the management of complex cataracts, dislocated intraocular lenses, and scleral-fixated intraocular lens implantation. Dr. Wang is committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care while utilizing the latest surgical techniques to optimize visual outcomes for his patients.

Originally from Beijing, China, Dr. Wang came to the United States to pursue a career in biomedical research after completing his undergraduate education. He earned his PhD in Neurobiology from Albany Medical College and subsequently obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital, followed by fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Wang enjoys cooking, reading, playing basketball, and spending time outdoors with his wife and two young sons.
