Dr. Wang is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the retina and vitreous. His clinical expertise includes the management of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, retinal detachment, vitreous opacities (floaters), vitreous hemorrhage, epiretinal membrane, and macular holes. He also has extensive experience in the surgical management of complex cataracts and dislocated intraocular lenses. Dr. Wang is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized, evidence-based care while incorporating the latest medical and surgical advances to optimize visual outcomes and preserve his patients’ vision.
Originally from Beijing, China, Dr. Wang came to the United States to pursue a career in biomedical research after completing his undergraduate education. He earned his PhD in Neurobiology from Albany Medical College and subsequently obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital, followed by vitreoretinal fellowship training at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Wang enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors with his wife and two young sons.
